The ultimate in low-pollution vehicles. A steam locomotive is equipped with a cover plate on its smokestack. The smoke is sucked back into the firebox by a blower, thus causing the locomotive to consume all of its own smoke, and increasing efficiency by forcing the boiler to consume all of its unburned by-products.
